Every answer your team needs, from one source.
Your knowledge is scattered across chat threads, documents, spreadsheets, and the heads of three people who are always busy. Fonte connects to where it already lives, distils it, and makes it answerable. It is built once, in your infrastructure, and owned by you.
Knowledge gets created wherever it is convenient.
Every year or so somebody proposes the same fix: move everything into one platform. It never holds, because it fights how the work actually happens.
Five layers, no magic.
This is the part most vendors will not show you. Here is exactly what gets built, in order, from the systems your knowledge already lives in through to an answer you can check.
- 05Answers
A written answer with citations back to the thread, document, or record it came from.
- 04Ranking
Results from every method are merged and re-scored against your actual question, so agreement across methods beats a single strong match.
- 03Retrieval
Several search methods run at once: exact terms, meaning, rare-word weighting, and recency. Each covers the others' blind spots.
Where builds fail"The sync keeps hanging" and "the connector times out on large batches" share no words, so one method finds one of them and running them together finds both.
- 02Distillation
Raw threads are not stored as-is. We extract the question, the resolution, and the systems involved, because that is what makes an answer findable later.
Where builds failIndex a thread raw and "sounds good, thanks" ranks as high as the message that actually fixed it.
- 01Sources
Chat, documents, product data, support history, and your own databases, with one connector per source.
This is the same architecture frontier AI companies build for their own internal knowledge. We did not invent it, we implement it. Read the reference architecture →
Built once, queried by everything.
Every agent gets smarter.
Every agent you run is briefed on your voice and rules. Point it at Fonte and it can also consult everything your company knows, so a draft can cite the actual warranty clause instead of working around it.
Ask where you already work.
Ask a question in the chat tool you already use and get an answer with citations, instead of interrupting the person who happens to know.
Open over MCP.
Fonte exposes its search over MCP, the emerging standard for how AI tools reach data. Whatever your team is using next year can query it too.
Models will keep changing. Your knowledge being query-ready is the part that carries forward.
Your infrastructure, your data, not our platform.
Fonte is built in your cloud account, on your database, behind your keys. There is no EsitoLabs platform in the middle and no per-seat licence. We build it, we connect it, and we can be switched off in seconds.
If you stop working with us, Fonte keeps running. That is the difference between owning an asset and renting access to one.
Headcount changes nothing.
Enterprise search tools charge per user per month, typically with a hundred-seat minimum. Fonte is built once. Your headcount does not change what it costs to run.
Worth more in year two.
Every question your team resolves becomes another answer Fonte can give. The layer is worth more in year two than in year one.
Nothing is a black box.
It is your database, so every record, every source, and every citation is inspectable.
Three things set the price. All of them are yours to control.
We do not publish a number because the honest answer depends on your estimate for these three, and we would rather tell you on a call than guess on a page.
Two systems, or twelve.
Each connector is real engineering: authentication, incremental sync, and handling the format that source actually produces.
Standard, or bespoke.
Standard chat and document tools are well-trodden. Your own database, a legacy system, or an industry-specific platform takes bespoke work.
Permissions and audit.
Whether answers must respect existing permissions, whether you need single sign-on, and whether every query needs to be logged for audit.
Builds are scoped engagements in the five-figure range. A 40-minute call is enough to put a number on yours.
The questions buyers ask first.
Grounding is a brief: five files the agent is told, read in full before every draft, and small enough that nothing needs to be searched. Fonte is infrastructure that ingests your real sources, distils them, indexes them, and answers questions across all of them with citations. The mechanism, the scale, and the price are all different. Grounding is an optional upgrade that makes one agent sound like you, while Fonte is a separate build that lets every agent, and your whole team, look things up.
No. They are independent and they solve different problems, because Grounding governs how the agent sounds and Fonte governs what it can find out. Most clients who buy Fonte have Grounding already, because a company that cares enough about its knowledge to build a layer usually cares about its voice too, but neither requires the other.
You can, if you are big enough to buy one. The established tools price per user per month with a hundred-seat minimum, which puts them out of reach below a certain headcount and into six figures a year above it. You also never own anything. Fonte is built once, in your infrastructure, and you keep it.
Yes, and the first version will demo well. The failure happens around week six, when short filler messages outrank real answers and stale threads recommend systems you have retired. The techniques that fix that, distillation before indexing, several retrieval methods merged, recency weighting, are the difference between a demo and something people still use in month six. That is what you are buying.
Scoping is a call, and the build depends on source count and access, so we give you a date at scoping rather than a range on a web page. The first sources are usually answering questions well before the last ones are connected.
It runs in your infrastructure under your keys. Access control and audit logging are part of the build, not an add-on, and we hold no standing access after handover.
No, and most clients start without it. Agents run on Grounding, and while Fonte makes them better and is worth buying on its own merits, it is not a prerequisite for anything.
Tell us what it searched. Most first attempts index raw text from a single source with no citations, and they fail for reasons this architecture is specifically built to avoid. We will tell you honestly whether your situation is one we can improve on.
Find out what yours would take.
In forty minutes we map your sources, tell you which ones are straightforward and which are not, and put a number on the build.
